What are we spreading?

Even in times of pandemic, it is important to focus on Jesus and the victory He has won for us.

As disciples of Jesus, we want to infect as many people as possible with the Lord's love to make victory possible for them too.

2 Corinthians 2.14 (The Book) "Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ He leads us in His victory and uses us to make Himself known everywhere and spread the good news like a pleasant fragrance."

Some people spend a lot of money for a pleasant fragrance. The best pleasant scents are those that linger.

When someone walks by with a scent like that, you immediately look up and think, "how nice that smells." This is how I imagine the smell of the good news.

It is not difficult to spread bad news, but the smell of bad news is not pleasant and will not attract anyone. You prefer to avoid it, and sometimes you even pinch your nose because you can't stand it.

The good news, on the other hand, is appealing. It makes you look up, lingers and gives you hope. Spreading good news means giving life, and giving people a future perspective by presenting God to them.

Isaiah 52.7 (Plain Language Bible) "Everyone is waiting for the good news. Everyone is waiting for the swift messenger to come over the mountains. People are happy when he comes. He says that peace is coming, and that God will deliver the people. He shouts to the people of Jerusalem, 'Your God is king!'"

Yes, people are waiting for good news, but you have to believe it yourself first. Do you see yourself as an overcomer? Do you realize what Jesus has done for you? Do you recognize the future prospects he has given you?

The good news hasn't changed, but maybe we have?
