A year of restitution!

The Jewish new year 5783 has already begun.

As we know, the Hebrew language is made up of symbols and numbers, each of which contains an important message.
This year it's all about the number 3, the letter Gimel which, among other things, stands for restitution.

When God announces that we are in a year of restitution, I look forward to seeing how that will affect my life.

Where do I want to see healing or restoration, reimbursement or compensation? Then I have to start proclaiming these things.

We have all had to suffer circumstances that were not fun. We have been hurt and experienced the feeling of loss.

Some situations can keep us busy for years. We are angry, upset and frustrated. We talk about it and try to process the situation. But most of all, we long for restitution.

And that's what we have to fight for. Proverbs 6.31 states clearly that if the thief is caught, he must pay back seven times what he stole.

What we often forget is that "our struggle is not against human beings but against heavenly princes, the rulers and powers of darkness, against the evil spirits in the heavenly spheres." Ephesians 6.12

Of course we are angry at what has been done to us, but that will get us nowhere. We must go after the culprit and demand restitution!

And the culprit is the thief, the devil who is happy when we blame man instead of him.

He wants us to believe that man was guilty and that we will become embittered and stop being a danger to him.

It is time to realize that he is the thief and catch him! For I hear God saying, Go to the enemy camp and get back what he stole.

That was also the response David received when he returned to Siklag and saw that the enemy had plundered everything and had even taken the women and children.

While serving the Lord, he and his fellow warriors were robbed by the enemy. Their first reaction was wailing, weeping and bitterness. (1 Samuel 30)

But David sought the Lord and was clearly told to go after the enemy. By the end of the story, not only had they recovered everything they had lost, but much more.

1 Samuel 30.18 "David stripped the Amalekites of everything they had stolen away; he also freed both his wives. Not the least of the spoils was missing: all the children were still there and everything else they had taken.

Everything was carried back with him by David. He seized their sheep, goats and cattle; they were carried away, before their own livestock. 'This is David's booty,' they said."

It is time to take back what the enemy has taken from us and more!

Is it your calling for the Kingdom?
Then get it back!

Is it your family?
Then get it back!

Is it your health?
Then get it back!

Is it your finances?
Then get it back!

Is it your job?
Then get it back!

It is the Lord who says that "No weapon formed against us will thrive.
and every tongue that rises against us in judgment we will condemn. This is our inheritance from the Lord, and our righteousness is His."
Isaiah 54.17

This is the Lord's will for our lives!
