It's Rosh Hashanah again, the beginning of the Jewish new year. This day is also called the day of the shofar, which is blown about 100 times on this day.<\/p>\n
We in the West do not follow the Jewish calendar, but that does not mean that it has no meaning; on the contrary, it is consistent with the feasts and commandments that the Israelites received from God.<\/p>\n
The Jewish or Hebrew era begins with the creation of the world, which, according to the Tenach, took place in the year 3761 BC.<\/p>\n
The Tenach or Mikra is the Hebrew Bible that contains the Law, the Prophets and the Holy Scriptures. 39 books that make up the Old Testament.<\/p>\n
If we take those 3761 years to the birth of Jesus and then add the 2023 years since then, in a few weeks we will have the beginning of the Jewish year 5784.<\/p>\n
As we know, Hebrew letters have numerical values that form a clear message.<\/p>\n
The last letter of 5784 determines the year, in this case the 4. the Dalet \u05d3<\/p>\n
Dalet means, \"A door, a gate, a movement (inward or outward) like a door.\"<\/em><\/p>\n What role will this door play in our lives this year?<\/p>\n One of the things we can definitely count on is a change in our environment. Just as every door in your house leads to a different room and environment, we will be challenged in the next 12 months to go through doors that lead us to a new environment.<\/p>\n Doors are a synonym for things that can happen to bring God's sovereign rule to a particular area.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n When God opens a door, He actually paves the way for you to enter into a territory where His Lordship prevails through you.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n We see this clearly in <\/span><\/span>Acts 5:17-21 <\/span><\/span><\/strong>where the apostles had been captured and imprisoned.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n At <\/span><\/span>fresh 19 <\/strong><\/span><\/span>state: \"<\/i><\/span><\/span>At night, however, an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the prison,<\/span><\/i><\/span> brought them out and said, \"Go to the temple and speak to the people there about everything concerning the new life. The apostles complied and went to the temple at daybreak, where they continued their teaching.\" <\/span><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n God opened the way for them to continue the work He had assigned to them<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n When God opens a door, it always has to do with His kingdom.<\/span><\/p>\n If the doors we would like to see open are private and have no further connection to God, chances are they will remain closed.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Too often we long for breakthroughs that benefit us rather than God.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Let us seek the doors He intended for us.<\/span> \u00a0<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Het is weer Rosj Hasjana, het begin van het joodse nieuw jaar.
