{"id":2504,"date":"2021-04-26T18:34:30","date_gmt":"2021-04-26T17:34:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/levenskracht-tilburg.nl\/?p=2504"},"modified":"2021-04-26T18:34:30","modified_gmt":"2021-04-26T17:34:30","slug":"een-geest-van-kracht","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/levenskrachtgemeente.nl\/en\/2021\/04\/26\/een-geest-van-kracht\/","title":{"rendered":"A spirit of Power, Love and a sound Mind."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I <strong>2<\/strong> <strong>Timothy 1.7<\/strong> as the main verse for this year, it became clear to me what God wants us to focus on. It says here:<\/p>\n<p><em>\"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but <strong>of power,<\/strong> <strong>and of love<\/strong>, <strong>and of<\/strong> and <strong>sound mind<\/strong>.\" <\/em><\/p>\n<p>So not a fearful reticent spirit, but one of <strong>strength, love and sound judgment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These are the characteristics of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>He<\/strong> makes it possible for us to do extraordinary things and overcome extraordinary circumstances! The Holy Spirit places us in a separate category of people, that of a child of God!<\/p>\n<p>If God's Spirit was not in us, we would not distinguish ourselves from other people in this world, and might feel as hopeless as they do.<\/p>\n<p>But precisely God's Spirit empowers us as we do in <strong>Ephesians 3.16 <\/strong>reading:<\/p>\n<p><em>\"From his rich splendor, may he grant your inner being strength and power through his Spirit...\"<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Our inner being is here...and that includes our soul! So also our thoughts and emotions.<\/p>\n<p>Again, God wants to give us strength to endure times of uncertainty. Not to be confused, but to experience God's peace through the power of the Spirit.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest challenge we face is to keep our thoughts focused on God and make sure our emotions do not take over.<\/p>\n<p>Not an easy task given the current circumstances. But one thing I know for sure: if you trust in God, there is no need to worry.<\/p>\n<p>The end of the World has not yet come, and God is still on the throne.<\/p>\n<p>At <strong>Philippians 4:6-7<\/strong> state <em>\"<\/em><em>Be anxious about nothing, but ask God what you need and thank him in all your prayers. <sup>7 <\/sup><strong>Then will the peace of God, which transcends all understanding<\/strong>, keep your heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus.<\/em><em>\"<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em>Going to God when you need something and thanking Him for His provision brings a peace to your life that is beyond all understanding!<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em>I don't need to understand everything going on around me, I just need God's strength to overcome it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Colossians 1.11<\/strong> \"...<em>and you will receive by His glorious power the strength to endure all things and endure all things.\"<\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Toen ik 2 Timothe\u00fcs 1,7 als hoofdvers voor dit jaar kreeg, werd me duidelijk waar God wil dat we ons op gaan focussen. Hier staat: \u201cGod heeft ons niet een geest van lafhartigheid gegeven, maar een geest van kracht, liefde en bezonnenheid.\u201d Dus geen vreesachtige terughoudende geest, maar een van kracht, liefde en gezond oordeel.
