What will the future look like?

A few weeks ago, I was asked what the congregation's perspective should be during this pandemic.

Some will certainly say that because of the current situation, they have no future prospects at all. Others will simply let it come down to this. What happens, happens.

But can we stop there as a congregation? Wouldn't that mean we have lost our hope and trust in God?

Especially the difficult times in our lives make us wonder where our help comes from.

Psalms 121:2 "My help comes from the LORD who made heaven and earth."

Psalms 71:5 "You are my only hope, LORD, my God; from childhood I have trusted in you."

The perspective of the congregation should always be one of hope and trust in God. These ensure a stable life of faith. Hope in the Lord gives us the strength we need to stand firm in faith.

It gives us a future perspective that makes us look forward to what is to come.

Isaiah 40:31 ...But he who hopes in the LORD receives new strength: he spreads his wings like an eagle; he walks, but does not grow weary; he runs, but does not become exhausted.

If you don't want to be exhausted, you would do well to stay focused on what God is saying, because He rules our lives. He knows exactly what is going on! He gives us a perspective of rest and peace.

The result is a congregation that exudes stability, and cannot be sidetracked.

God has a plan for our lives that even a crisis cannot stop! He gives us courage in the midst of the storm! He removes our thoughts from negative circumstances and sets them back to what lies ahead as long as we trust in Him.
